History
The Town of West New York, incorporated in 1898, is located in Hudson county, New Jersey. West New York has population of approximately 50,000 and a land area of approximately one square mile, the West New York police department is tasked with keeping one of the most densely populated towns in the country safe. In the early beginnings of the town the Embroidery industry was a vital economic force that drove the town to prosper. As times changed and the embroidery industry departed, West New York became known for its Shopping District and the development of the Prestigious Waterfront community which attracted many new residents due to its close proximity to New York City.
As the town continues to develop into one of the most prestigious residential neighborhoods in the new York metropolitan area, the West New York Police Department is committed to keeping its community safe.
